Even though many of us seem to struggle to make ends meet each month, we are still painfully aware there are countless others who are less fortunate, living in poverty. Surviving a few weeks or months’ loss of income is one thing, but surviving poverty for years is a whole different feat.
Living in poverty is often devastating. Having to cope with the feelings of shame, anger, confusion, lack of direction, and even guilt. Navigating through the entitlement systems can be a daunting task. In truth, many people don’t even know where to turn for get started to find their way out of poverty. But as you know that is what Stars of Courage is all about.
With 47 million people living at or below the poverty line in the United States (which is such a huge number, it’s hard to even wrap our minds around it), It can seem completely unrealistic to think you could make much, if any, difference.
But you can make a difference to those who are being benefited by Stars of Courage. We believe everyone deserves to live a bountiful life, but we can’t do it without you.
One of our most important objectives is to help you help others. Our goal is to show you how to get involved by simply offering your gifts, talents and connections. With an open heart and a positive mind, you can do things beyond donating to our cause.
